Yesterday, “Final Fantasy: All the Bravest” hit the AppStore for iOS devices. Initially, it sounded like an interesting concept for a game, but the big turn-off was the fact that the game will cost you almost $50 just to unlock all of the stories and character classes. Yet, if this isn’t bad enough, it turns out the game has in-app purchases that can be used to revive your party in the middle of fights (making the challenge in any fight moot, although more on that next) for 99 cents.
Pointless, right? But, if you don’t do that it will take 90 minutes for you to respawn to try again.
If this wasn’t bad enough, there really is no gameplay. You just tap a character and they attack, and you have no control over what they do in their attack or who they attack. And, if you leave them alone, their Active Time Battle bar will fill up and they will auto-attack, so it’s kind of like watching a really sucky, really expensive movie.
Basically, you should go and pick up the complete version of “Final Fantasy Dimensions” as you will not be disappointed with that one.
But, IGN did a great public service announcement about this game, and it is worth taking a humorous look at above.
