On December 17, 2012 we were graced with the release of the fan-created, but officially published, game “Street Fighter X Mega Man” for the PC – completely free of charge! While the game is certainly a fun one and has a lot of merits, there were quite a few minor bugs upon release. Also, many people complained about the overall lack of a save feature of any kind. Well, fear not: Capcom has heard your pleas and has corrected this!
With the release of “Street Figher X Mega Man: Version 2″ on January 18, 2013, they went back and fixed some of the bugs that were causing trouble. In addition, they added in a password system to save your progress and made it so that hitting the ESC key would not instantly quit the program; instead, it now asks you to confirm the action.
You can pick up your copy of Version 2 completely free right here!
For those who really like the soundtrack, that was recently made available by artist A_Rival, and you can pick it up free (or give an optional donation) here.

Sounds good. Glad they are keeping up on this. Hopefully this bodes well for mega Man in the future….
Maybe! The game had a decent number of downloads and they said the numbers looked promising, so hopefully that will encourage them to take a look at other possibilities for the franchise.
I just want them to release a compilation of all the battle network games, dang it.
I thought they did a while back for the DS?
Not that I can find….
Yeah, I just now found that out – looks like it was planned but then scrapped. They did make a Mega Man Zero collection though I think, but I guess they canned the Battle Network one…Ah well. X_X
I’ll have to pick up the games individually. I do have my GBA SP with me…
The Zero Collection on the DS is worth getting though as those games are very good. But yeah, you should be able to pick up the BN games pretty cheap I think. I wonder if Star Force is any good?
I dunno… I wonder that myself. And that Network Transmission one. I know they are all from the Mega Man RPG idea.
