Season 1 Album Available for Sale!

 

For a while now I know I have been talking about having an actual digital album available for the first season of “The Gaming Goddess” podcast.  Well, now one exists!

This album clocks in as a whopping 1.2GB RAR archive that contains all twenty episodes from this past season.  While these MP3′s can still be downloaded for free in the podcast archive on this site, only those that purchase the album will be able to get a copy of the bonus track I recorded in which I answer quite a few user-submitted questions in a Q&A episode!

To get your copy of the album, simply click on the PayPal donation tab on the side of this page and donate at least $9.99 USD (more if you wish to simply support the site and the show!) and make sure to put a note in your donation that you wish for the link to the album.  Once I get the confirmation email, I will send a link to the email address tied to your PayPal account and you will be able to download the album and enjoy it!

Please know that sales of this optional album will be used to pay for random expenses related to the site and show, help fund programs I use and future software suites I may pick up for the projects on this site, and also any equipment I want to pick up or replace!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 20: ‘Season 1 Retrospective’

It’s hard to believe that this is already the 20th episode of this show and, what’s more, that this is the final podcast of Season 1!

It’s been a great run so far, and a real learning experience for me on many levels. I had a lot of fun recording this each week and meeting all sorts of new and fun people who were guests on various episodes in the second half of the season. This week’s podcast discusses all of this, talks about my thoughts on the season, talks about feedback I’ve gotten on the show, mentions plans for Season 2 (which should come in August or September), and I talk about my plans over the summer months.

I hope all of you out there who have followed the blog and enjoyed the show will join me again when Season 2 kicks off, but in the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful summer and that you have fun with some of the new games on the horizon!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 19: ‘Guild Wars Gossip with Aristeia’

For what will likely be the last guest spot of Season 1, Mark Matthews, known as “Aristeia” in most online circles, joins us to introduce himself, talk a bit about his experiences with the original “Guild Wars,” and then answer a bunch of my questions regarding “Guild Wars 2.” He’s a very patient guy and an absolute joy to talk to!

Mark is extremely knowledgeable about Guild Wars and MMORPGs in general and he is someone that I would certainly like to have as a regular once Season 2 kicks off later this year. Also, if Mark somehow did not answer a question you, as the listener, had about GW2, please let me know and I will get the question to him so you can get a reply!

As the podcast wraps up, more of my attention will be going towards the blog itself and getting the video content done. I’ve had a lot of fun with “Bastion” and “The Witcher” so far, and later this summer I will be doing a special Let’s Play video for Peter Skerritt, the 1500th subscriber to the blog!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 18: ‘Technobabble with Master_Dex’

While this is still technically a gaming-centered podcast, I thought we would change things up a bit this week and do something different.

Thus, I decided to invite a friend of mine who is an aerospace engineer onto the show to talk about sci-fi movies, shows, and, yes, even video games. Rob, also known as “Master_Dex” online, has a vast knowledge of how things work, and it was quite a treat to pick his brain on a few subjects, particularly the accuracy of certain games and movies insofar as their visions of the future might be.

Next time he is on the show, we think we might compartmentalize it a bit and instead focus on a specific thing. One example we talk about in the call is a segment about the Metal Gear Solid games, and that would certainly be great!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 17: “Secrets of The Secret World with Mike Charves”

As Season 1 of “The Gaming Goddess” Podcast winds down, I’ve been working hard to get some interesting and entertaining guests to come on the show. Naturally, that makes the podcast run quite a bit longer than my monologue sessions, but hands-down this week’s podcast is the absolute longest, clocking in at over 2 hours and 40 minutes in length!

Mike Charves, who has been a good friend of mine for a while now, comes on the show to discuss Funcom’s upcoming MMORPG “The Secret World” (due out on June 19, 2012). Yet, while Mike and I have a long conversation about the game, we also talk about all sorts of random subjects, ranging from comics to upcoming movies and more!

Naturally, due to the long nature the podcast had to be broken up into two major portions, and while I encourage you to listen to the whole thing at some point in the future, those of you here to listen to us chat about “The Secret World” can skip ahead to about 1:01:50.

Music this week is completely selected by Mike, but fits well. One of the songs comes from Conan while the others are from “The Secret World.”

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 16: “TOR Trepidation and Diablo Excitement with Gorganis”

This week I asked my friend Willis Buckles, who goes by Gorganis in most online circles, to come and be a guest on the show. Willis and I met early last year through RIFT and have kept in touch ever since and it has been a great pleasure to know him. He is a supporter of the blog and the podcast, so I figured that his insight into a few matters, as well as his enjoyable personality, would be a good fit for the podcast.

We touch on quite a few topics this time starting out with our mutual feelings regarding “Star Wars: The Old Republic” and how most, if not all, of the luster has since worn off. Likewise, we express our potential concerns regarding “The Elder Scrolls: Online” (expected to launch in 2013) and whether that game will potentially fall into the same trap as TOR. Then, after the intermission, we go into a bit of depth talking about “Diablo III,” due to release on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

The musical scores from this week’s show were hand-picked by Willis and are a good fit.

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 15: “GW2, IMM, and More!”

The podcast is back from its brief hiatus that took place last week due to my having to go to some required military training with the Guard, and this time around I spend the podcast catching up on some of the latest goings-on.

I briefly talk about the pending release of Diablo III for the PC, talk about the June 26 release date for Guild Wars 2, mention some of the new and upcoming projects for Iron Man Mode, and discuss my initial impressions of the Guild Wars 2 beta weekend that happened recently.

Season 1 will be wrapping up at the end of May or perhaps the first week in June, and I have a couple guests in mind as this season comes to a close. “The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 14: “TOR Talk with Akivav”

Last week I had the great honor and pleasure to have Tim the “Mega Retro Geek” as the very first guest on The Gaming Goddess podcast.  

This week, I follow suit with Richard “Akivav” Woreth, a good friend of mine that I met through “Star Trek Online” and have kept up with ever since.  Richard and I talk about the recent 1.2 patch for “Star Wars: The Old Republic” as well as what update 1.3 might contain.  We also just randomly talk about role-play and our thoughts and experiences with the game thus far.

It was a great pleasure to have Richard on the show this week and I do look forward to future shows with him.

A quick note about Iron Man Mode: If you donate $15-20 to Child’s Play via the donations page, I will gladly make a special “one-off” video of a game of your choice (ideal candidates might be NES, SNES, etc. type games that are platformers or action-oriented), and if you were to donate upwards of $50 I would probably make a dedicated video series or blog for you!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 12: ‘ME3 – Losing Faith in BioWare?’

This week there were a few things of note to talk about in the “Gaming Goddess Podcast.” News-wise, I talk about the upcoming 1.2 patch for “Star Wars: The Old Republic,” the fact that OtherLand will not be a browser-based game as originally expected, mention the “Path to Exile” beta, and then talk about a negative view that some developers have in regards to the upcoming Wii U.

The main thing talked about in this podcast, however, is the alternate ending DLC for “Mass Effect 3″ and my take on that topic. Some of you will recall that I answered a question from @TurkReno on Twitter about this last week, but I felt that it deserved a much more in-depth talk.

Speaking of TurkReno, I answer another question posed by him, this time focusing on the PS Vita and some of the promised features not seen in the release version.

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 1, Episode 11: “Minecraft Patching Woes!”

It’s funny how quickly each week passes, and it’s also quite funny that I tell myself I’m going to keep this week’s podcast around the 30-minute mark and it just never happens!

There was quite a bit of news to cover in this week’s podcast, including talks about the various formats of “Phantasy Star Online 2,” the possibility of all of Sony’s MMO’s going free-to-play, my ranting about the supposed styles of the next Sony and Microsoft consoles, and the possibility of a Minecraft 2.  In fact, some of this stuff might become the feature of future podcast episodes – we’ll just have to see.

I also tossed in a mini-review of “Terraria,” mentioned an adventure game project I’m thinking of starting up soon, and then got to the main meat of the podcast – discussing how badly all these Minecraft patches can affect projects that are heavily dependent on modifications and custom texture packs (like my “Zelda 2″ one!).  I also mention my plans for how that one will likely get distributed.
