Finally Back in Town!

It’s been a little bit since my last regular, non-scheduled post here on the blog, but that’s because I was enjoying some time with my family out of town.  It was nice to be able to get away for a while, relax, and not have too much to really worry about.  Christmas was indeed very nice and was spent visiting with my parents, grandparents, and aunt and uncle and we all had a great time.  Also, despite people saying that they hope that Christmas gets smaller and that people stop feeling obligated to buy huge gifts, I think this year was the biggest Christmas yet!

Ah well, that’s just how things go sometimes!

Regardless, I am rather tired now and will be relaxing and taking it easy over the next few days.  I do suspect, though, that posting will pick up again here on Allahweh’s Domain after the first of the year and sometime in the near future I will pick up with Season 3 of “The Gaming Goddess” podcast.  The podcast is a lot of work, though, and I am still considering what the format will be like for the Spring 2013 season.  I may consider doing it every-other week or possibly finding someone to regularly help with the show.  If the latter is something that interests you, do let me know in coming weeks.

For now, though, I wish all of you a wonderful New Year and I hope that 2013 is a great year for us all! ^.^

Merry Christmas from “Allahweh’s Domain!”

With the Holidays here already, I felt it to be a good idea to tell you that Allahweh’s Domain will not receive any further posts until after December 27, mainly due to the fact that I will be out of town visiting family for Christmas.  While I could try and update this blog now and then while away, I would rather not have to feel obligated to do so and instead simply be able to relax and enjoy myself while away!

Still, this isn’t to say that this site will have been forgotten while I’m gone or, more importantly, that you will have been forgotten.  Rather, I did have a little something for you guys that I will schedule to go live on Christmas Day – it’s a neat, very rare PC game that was produced in such limited quantities that it is almost impossible to find these days.  The image associated with this post may give you a clue as to what this game is, but mum’s the word for now.  Just be sure to check back here on December 25 to secure your copy while you can!

Meanwhile, don’t forget that the digital album for Season 2 of the show is available for you to purchase, so if you missed my post about that, do check it out now and secure your copy.  Keep in mind, though, that if you pay for it now, you won’t receive it most likely until December 28, but I will see what I can do.

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 2 Digital Album Available!

The digital album for the second season of “The Gaming Goddess” podcast is now available!

Season 2 of the show was a big success, I thought, and I varied up the show a good bit to streamline the content, bring new and fun guests onto the show, and deliver a superior experience, all in under 60 minutes each week.  This season was shorter than the first, clocking in at just ten episodes, but I think this season, overall, was better than the first.  As such, just as I did with the first season, I’ve compiled a digital album of the second season for those that are interested in picking it up.

To secure your copy, visit the donation tab on the side of the page and send $9.99 or more via PayPal to the address given.  Once I see the donation has been made, I will send an email to the address listed in the transaction with a link on where to download the file (in .RAR format).  In addition to the ten episodes of the season, getting a copy of the album will secure you five SNES ROMs of my choosing (keep in mind that this is merely a bonus and is not meant to be for profit – if you enjoy the games, and they are available commercially, I encourage you to buy them).

What games will you get?  First, you’ll receive a ROM of the restored beta version of “Super Mario World” on the SNES.  Additionally, you’ll get the pre-patched fan-game “The Legend of Zelda: Parallel Worlds.”  Then, in terms of commercial titles, I’ve included “Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals” (my all-time favorite SNES RPG), “Treasure Hunter G” (since we are doing that for Game Travels), and “Romancing SaGa 3″ (an outstanding RPG by Square).

Keep in mind that picking up Season 1 or Season 2 will not stop you from downloading the free MP3′s from the archive, but also keep in mind that this site does have costs incurred with it.  It isn’t completely free for me to host all these files, do video content, upgrade software, etc., so if you enjoy Allahweh’s Domain then help me keep it as a viable site!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 2, Episode 10: “To Ascend or Not to Ascend?”

So, this is it, the end of our journey…For Season 2, that is!

Indeed, with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and all of the stuff that it all entails, I won’t really have gads of time to donate to keeping the podcast going in the meantime. Yet, if all goes as currently planned, “The Gaming Goddess” podcast will return for its third season sometime in late-January of 2013.

What will this new season be like? You’ll just have to wait and find out!

In the meantime, today’s episode focuses on the Lost Shores event in “Guild Wars 2″ that starts on November 16 and we are once again honored to have Mark Matthews (aka “Virtual Aristeia”) on the show to discuss it with us. We also talk about the fact that people seem upset that this new area and its new dungeon will introduce a new tier of gear at level 80 called “Ascended” – an obvious reference to GW1. These people feel it is either way too early to introduce more to achieve like that or they feel lied to about GW1′s whole thing about vertical progression.

And, of course, we even muse about possible Holiday events for the game!

This week on the show, my friend Ken Imbody joins us to talk about his latest obsession: “XCOM: Enemy Unknown.” We also talk about a few other topics too, including “Guild Wars 2″ and the recent purchase of LucasArts by Disney.

Ken is an avid role-player and gamer and an all-around nerd in many ways. He’s a fun person to pick his brain with comic book questions, so perhaps in a future episode (Season 3?) he will join us to talk about comics!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 2, Episode 8: “Thorny Situations”

Since this podcast was recorded on Halloween (October 31, 2012), I thought it was only appropriate to make it at least somewhat Halloween themed! Yet, still, I simply had to talk about the recent purchase of Lucas Arts by Disney and my own thoughts on that.

Once you get into the actual meat of the podcast, you can enjoy my random thoughts about the Castlevania reimagining that began with Lords of Shadow in two years ago in 2010, hear about the KickStarter project to recreate the original “Shadowgate” game, listen to me muse about whether or not a horror MMORPG is feasible to create (and no, I don’t think “The Secret World” worked out well), and hear about my fun with the Halloween events in “Guild Wars 2.”

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 2, Episode 5: “Guilding in Guild Wars 2″

This week on the show I go off on a small rant (okay, probably not really a rant, but more of a reasonable argument?) about the guild system in “Guild Wars 2″ and how, at present, I feel that the ability to belong to more than one guild in the game is quickly overshadowed by limitations of the chat system and the current lack of a true workable way to guest on other servers. Likewise, on the topic of the game, I discuss the fact that some people are saying that their “honeymoon” period with the game is over and that they are now finding the game to be quite flawed. I reply accordingly.

Other things discussed this time around is the planned Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man crossover by Archie Comics, the fact that there is nothing big planned for Mega Man’s 25th Anniversary by Capcom, the lack of an Android version of “Final Fantasy Dimensions,” and then I answer another fan-submitted question!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 2, Episode 4: “Kerbaling Our Way into Space”

This week on the show I am very pleased to have a good friend of mine, Rob Eubank, on to talk about a current favorite game of his: “Kerbal Space Program.” Some of you may remember Rob from Episode 18 of Season 1 where he came on to talk all sorts of real-world tech stuff with us and explain how it fit with various games and shows in the sci-fi genre. And, in fact, Rob was one of the fan-favorites as far as guests last season.

Anyway, Rob goes into a lot of detail this week explaining the basic history of the game, talking about what the game is like in layman’s terms, and then going into detail about what you can expect from the game itself. Before he and one other friend of mine told me about the game I was clueless about it, yet now I would not mind actually picking it up. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Rob has already agreed to return at some point to talk about the future of the game and discuss many of the fan-made mods to the program that already exist.
