“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 3, Episode 9: “Dynamite Anime!”

The podcast moves forward as Rob Eubank (@master_dex) continues on with me as a guest co-host and we discuss anime as this week’s topic of choice! Yes, anime! It is indeed a broad topic to discuss, but we both are fans of various shows and our passion about the ins and outs of different shows causes the show to get quite tangential. However, I think it makes for a good listen as the tangents were at least fun to talk about.

This episode is longer than the others, clocking in at nearly two hours, but don’t worry – there are two separate intermissions that break it up into digestible chunks, so I think it works out well if you think of it essentially as three little episodes in one!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 3, Episode 5: ‘Dungeon Delving, etc’

It’s time for another podcast episode, and this time I am joined by two recurring guests, Mark Matthews (aka “Virtual Aristeia”) and Jeremy Stratton, who come on the show to have a casual, round-table style discussion about various aspects of “Guild Wars 2!”

Obviously, GW2 is a game that you could talk about for hours and still not even hardly scratch the surface, but I think we cover a fair amount of ground here and hopefully hit on some topics that some of you might have been wondering about. Jeremy was a great sport and had a lot of good questions, so we ended up talking about dungeons, gear, PvP, and a lot more!

Among the topics we talk about are the “Colonial Marines” debacle and a discussion regarding the merits (or lack thereof) in pre-ordering video games site-unseen.

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 3, Episode 2: ‘Playing Roulette’

This week on the show, Rob Eubank (@Master_Dex on Twitter and co-host this episode) and I are joined by Jeremy Stratton (@Jeremy_Stratton), who was a guest in Season 2. Jeremy has since moved on from Massively and is now focusing on all sorts of different and fun projects as well as running his own site called “Just One MMOre.” Jeremy discusses some of his current and upcoming projects, a book he is slowly working on, and engages Rob and me in the “age-old” debate regarding subscription models in MMOS, both current and upcoming.

I am particularly proud of the music selection for this episode. The intro track comes from “Star Ocean 2: The Second Story” (PS1), the intermission tune is a rock remix of the boss battle theme from “Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest” as performed by Daniel Tidwell, and the closing song is the main theme from the MMO “ROHAN: Blood Feud.”

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 3, Episode 1: ‘Violent Views’

“The Gaming Goddess” podcast is back now and kicking off its third season as 2013 gets into gear!

The show format will be taking on a slightly altered direction, which is something I discuss in the opening minutes of the show. Essentially, though, I will be working with other people more, introducing co-hosts that have agreed to help, and having even more fun with guest spots! Oh, and the show will now be every-other week, letting Season 3 clock in at a planned total of ten episodes!

This week, Rob Eubank, a good friend of mine and a co-author of the new blog “State of Flux,” co-hosts in order to talk about a wide variety of topics. Among things discussed are some of the latest TV shows we’ve seen, new and upcoming games, the Steam Box, the idea of all-in-one electronic devices encapsulating the future, and, as the episode title suggests, the worn-out argument regarding violence in video games – a matter which seems particularly relevant given the outbreak in stateside violence lately.

Music in today’s show focuses on fan works. The first is a fan remix of Richter Belmont’s theme from “Dracula X,” the second is Worm Man’s theme from the fan-made “Mega Man 11″ OST by Xavier Dang, and finally an awesome OCR tune of Bubble Man from MM2 mashed with the final stage theme from MM7.

Finally Back in Town!

It’s been a little bit since my last regular, non-scheduled post here on the blog, but that’s because I was enjoying some time with my family out of town.  It was nice to be able to get away for a while, relax, and not have too much to really worry about.  Christmas was indeed very nice and was spent visiting with my parents, grandparents, and aunt and uncle and we all had a great time.  Also, despite people saying that they hope that Christmas gets smaller and that people stop feeling obligated to buy huge gifts, I think this year was the biggest Christmas yet!

Ah well, that’s just how things go sometimes!

Regardless, I am rather tired now and will be relaxing and taking it easy over the next few days.  I do suspect, though, that posting will pick up again here on Allahweh’s Domain after the first of the year and sometime in the near future I will pick up with Season 3 of “The Gaming Goddess” podcast.  The podcast is a lot of work, though, and I am still considering what the format will be like for the Spring 2013 season.  I may consider doing it every-other week or possibly finding someone to regularly help with the show.  If the latter is something that interests you, do let me know in coming weeks.

For now, though, I wish all of you a wonderful New Year and I hope that 2013 is a great year for us all! ^.^

Merry Christmas from “Allahweh’s Domain!”

With the Holidays here already, I felt it to be a good idea to tell you that Allahweh’s Domain will not receive any further posts until after December 27, mainly due to the fact that I will be out of town visiting family for Christmas.  While I could try and update this blog now and then while away, I would rather not have to feel obligated to do so and instead simply be able to relax and enjoy myself while away!

Still, this isn’t to say that this site will have been forgotten while I’m gone or, more importantly, that you will have been forgotten.  Rather, I did have a little something for you guys that I will schedule to go live on Christmas Day – it’s a neat, very rare PC game that was produced in such limited quantities that it is almost impossible to find these days.  The image associated with this post may give you a clue as to what this game is, but mum’s the word for now.  Just be sure to check back here on December 25 to secure your copy while you can!

Meanwhile, don’t forget that the digital album for Season 2 of the show is available for you to purchase, so if you missed my post about that, do check it out now and secure your copy.  Keep in mind, though, that if you pay for it now, you won’t receive it most likely until December 28, but I will see what I can do.

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 2, Episode 10: “To Ascend or Not to Ascend?”

So, this is it, the end of our journey…For Season 2, that is!

Indeed, with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and all of the stuff that it all entails, I won’t really have gads of time to donate to keeping the podcast going in the meantime. Yet, if all goes as currently planned, “The Gaming Goddess” podcast will return for its third season sometime in late-January of 2013.

What will this new season be like? You’ll just have to wait and find out!

In the meantime, today’s episode focuses on the Lost Shores event in “Guild Wars 2″ that starts on November 16 and we are once again honored to have Mark Matthews (aka “Virtual Aristeia”) on the show to discuss it with us. We also talk about the fact that people seem upset that this new area and its new dungeon will introduce a new tier of gear at level 80 called “Ascended” – an obvious reference to GW1. These people feel it is either way too early to introduce more to achieve like that or they feel lied to about GW1′s whole thing about vertical progression.

And, of course, we even muse about possible Holiday events for the game!

“The Gaming Goddess” Podcast – Season 2, Episode 9: “Enemy Unknown”

This week on the show, my friend Ken Imbody joins us to talk about his latest obsession: “XCOM: Enemy Unknown.” We also talk about a few other topics too, including “Guild Wars 2″ and the recent purchase of LucasArts by Disney.

Ken is an avid role-player and gamer and an all-around nerd in many ways. He’s a fun person to pick his brain with comic book questions, so perhaps in a future episode (Season 3?) he will join us to talk about comics!
